“On the Ground” was written by MACV-SOG veterans John “Tiltmeyer” Stryker Meyer and John E. Peters. This book is a personal favorite of mine and a must have for all Vietnam militaria collectors and historians. Self published in 2007 and available (in hard cover) at John Meyer’s site “The SOG Chonicles” for only $24.95. You won’t be able to put it down!

Four authentic WWII overseas caps:
1. EM/NCO wool with Armored braid / piping. Quartermaster tag intact, but no longer legible. Approximate size 6 3/8. No mothing or notable condition issues other than some wear to the sweatband from being worn.
2. EM/MCO khaki cotton with Engineer braid / piping. Quartermaster tag intact, but no longer legible. Stamped size “7 1/4″. Clean condition with no issues.
3. Officer Quality elastic wool with Engineer braid / piping. Unusual color material. It looks soiled in the pics, but it’s actually a rusty brown color. Size 7 1/2. Silk lining with intact leather sweatband.
4. EM/NCO wool with Engineer braid / piping. Size “7″. In used condition with no mothing or stains. The soldier penned “W4461″ and “PVT Woods, Co. B 31 ENG, 374″ inside the sweatband. I was able to find this veteran in the National Archives.
