WWII German Heer (Army) steel belt buckle retaining its original leather tab. The manufacture stamp is not legible, but the date clearly reads, “1941.”

I’m shopping for a 10 yr. wedding anniversary gift for my husband and am interested in buying this item but have a question. My husband collects WWII German items and this would be a great addition to his collection. My question is – is it aluminum or steel? Most I’ve seen online that show this symbol are aluminum? The reason I ask is the 10 yr. anniversary is tin or aluminum.
