WWII Unissued Officers Poplin Field Overcoat
The poplin Officers field coat much scarcer than the makinaw “jeep coat”, or wool trench coat. This example is particularly unique because it appears to have never been worn and has a crisp master tag (see pic) dated 1944. It retains its original belt and buttons. Tag size is 39 long, but its slightly oversized.
An identical example is pictured on page 50 of Henri-Paul Enjames’s book “Goverment Issue: Collector’s Guide“, a definitive resource on US Army uniforms, equipment, and insignia used in the European Theater of Operations.
