The following are items issued to, or acquired by a US 1st Infantry Division Desert Storm / Shield veteran.  The lot includes:

  • “A Soldier’s Guide to the Middle East” 1st Infantry Division booklet detailing cultures, customs, and conduct
  • “Preventive Medicine” 1st Infantry Division booklet dated November 28, 1990
  • Laminated full-color instructional cards about the M40 gas mask.  Ring bound in the corner
  • 5 US propaganda leaflets (2 different types) the soldier picked up as they were being air dropped
  • Laminated “risk assessment matrix” the soldier carried into combat
  • Color pamphlet about “What You Should Know About ANTHRAX”
  • “Media Information Card” issued to the soldier informing him how he should address the press
  • “Hazardous Animals and Plants of Fort Riley” issued to soldier during pre-deployment training

AK-47 Drum Magazine Captured During Desert Storm

This is a Romanian AK-47 drum magazine issued to an Iraqi soldier during Operation Desert Storm (1990-91).  It was “captured” and sent home by a US 1st Division veteran, and I purchased the mag (along with several other items) directly from him.

Captured Iraqi Gas Mask / Decon Kit From Desert Storm

This is an Iraqi issued gas mask / bag, and complete decontamination kit captured and brought home by a US 1st Division vet during Desert Storm (1990-91).  The gas mask bag has a cloth tag with the soldier’s name in Arabic.  The gas mask also has Arabic painted on it.
