WWII Era USMC Vandergriff Jacket w/ Chinese Embroidery

A WWII era, Chinese-made USMC Vandergriff tailored for a 1st Marine Division veteran (R.C. Lindgren) stationed in Northern China during occupation immediately following the surrender of Japan. These unique Vandergriffs are rumored to be made from Japanese officer uniform cloth, as it is much different from US wool.

The jacket has a hand embroidered signalman striker on the cuff and a US machine embroidered 1st Mar Div patch machine sewn on the sleeve. The inside is lined in silk with an ornate, hand embroidered dragon and the veteran’s name. The bad news it the jacket was stored improperly and suffers notable moth damage (see pics).

The jacket measures:

Armpit to Armpit – 23 inches
Top of Collar to Bottom Hem – 26 inches
Shoulder to Shoulder – 17 inches
Shoulder to Cuff – 24.5 inches
Armpit to Cuff – 19 inches

WWII USMC M1941 Pattern Lower Pack For Sale

Manufactured by Boyt in 1942 and prominently marked “Boyt 42″ under the flap. This khaki USMC M1941 pattern lower pack system is in used condition with one of the metal strap ends missing. Otherwise, there are no issues.

WWII USMC P41 HBT (Herring Bone Twill) Shirt

Original WWII USMC HBT shirt with khaki stitching, and an EGA (Eagle Globe & Anchor) stencil on pocket. The shirt have been modified in that the metal “13 star” buttons were removed from the cuffs and replaced with period plastic buttons. I am guessing this was so as not to scratch a vehicle surfaces, etc. The shirt measures:
