WWII M35 German Reissue Helmet
WWII M35 pattern stalhelm. The outer shell has depot applied, textured matte finish paint over the apple green factory finish for camouflaging. The inside of the shell retains the original factory finish. The liner was more than likely replaced when it was repainted, as the retaining rivets lack washers. The liner is supple with the soldier's name nicely applied. Has all the fingers and original drawstring. Original chin strap. Shell is stamped "ET64" for Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG Thale/Harz, size 64 and "3507".
This helmet was sold to me by one of my pickers. He found it wrapped in a wooden GI footlocker in a barn hayloft. The soldier's uniform in the foot locker was moth and mouse eaten to shreds but the helmet was fortunately spared by pests.
